Texas Tennis Excellence runs on one tennis development system: a clear way of building players, from a child’s first lesson to elite competition. Our tennis coaching philosophy rests on three ideas, excellence in tennis, in character and in life. Led by Coach Ken Olivier, our USPTA-certified coaches use this system to help Spring, TX families see where their child is, where they’re headed and how we get there.
The Excellence System was designed by Coach Ken Olivier, whose coaching spans college and national-level competition.
After more than 35 years of coaching players from beginners to national champions, Coach Ken Olivier discovered that great players are not developed through drills alone.
At Texas Tennis Excellence in Spring, TX, our tennis coaching philosophy develops the complete athlete, combining:
Our tennis development system trains three things together: the player, the person and the competitor.
Strong tennis starts with fundamentals done well. Every player learns proper technique, footwork and match skills in a structured order, with coaches who correct small problems before they become habits. We measure progress by real skills a player can show, not just time spent on court.
Character development through tennis happens naturally, because the sport tests it. Players learn to handle pressure, accept losses, respect opponents and keep working when things are hard. Our coaches teach and expect effort, discipline and sportsmanship in every session.
The habits players build here carry beyond the court: focus, goal setting, resilience and confidence. Many parents tell us the biggest change in their child isn’t a stroke, it’s how they handle challenges. [Replace with a real parent comment if you have one.
Our structured tennis training pathway gives every player a next step. Players move up when their skills, commitment and results are ready, and our coaches talk it through with parents first.
First-time players learn the basics in a fun, supportive setting.
Players build consistency and are introduced to match play.
Players start competing and learn tactics and tournament basics.
Advanced players train for tournaments with higher intensity.
In Spring, TX, Texas Tennis Excellence works through two connected parts: our academy, which trains players, and our foundation, which works to open the game to more kids. Both share one commitment: developing young athletes on and off the court.
Many tennis programs in Texas focus only on technique. Our method, the core of our tennis development system, trains the whole player: skills, character, vision and competitive confidence.
Professional instruction designed around each player’s individual growth.
Teaching the values that create success both on and off the court.
Creating a pathway that supports players from their first lesson through advanced competition.
Preparing athletes to perform with confidence in challenging environments.
Whether your child is picking up a racquet for the first time or preparing for high-level competition, Texas Tennis Excellence in Spring, TX provides the pathway, coaching and support to grow. Tell us your child’s age and experience, and our coaches will point you to the right program.
